How to Load Islands and Custom Islands in an Aloft Server

Welcome to your guide on loading home and custom islands in your Aloft server! This step-by-step guide will help you get started with spawning islands, whether they were created in the editor or downloaded from the Steam Workshop.

Step-by-Step Guide to Load Islands

1. Join your Aloft server.
2. Open the menu and click on the Home Island tab.

1. Select:
   • Character Islands for islands made in the editor or previously used custom islands.
   • Custom Islands for workshop islands exclusively. All workshop islands will have a (workshop) in their name.

1. For Home Islands, there’s a button to load a previously saved local backup from it and to spawn it in the game.

1. Once spawned, your character will show the area the island will take. It must be placed; once placed, it will be set as your home. However, it can be despawned at any time. The home island will allow teleporting to it as usual.

Loading Custom Islands from Steam Workshop

To access custom islands from the Steam Workshop, use the Workshop button on the Home Islands tab. This will open the Steam Workshop where you can browse other players' constructions. Remember to subscribe to the islands you want to use in your server. Please allow a minute for the newly subscribed islands to show up in your in-game island list.

Locally Saved Custom Islands

As the game is currently in early access, transferring a local island or world to the server isn’t straightforward. To upload a custom island that you have saved locally and not set on the Steam Workshop, you will need to contact our customer care agents for assistance. This process requires manual intervention.
