How to Become an Admin on Space Engineers

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Go to Config Manager: Start by accessing your server's Config Manager. Here, you’ll either create a new configuration or edit an existing template if one is already active. 

2. Edit Configuration: At the bottom of the configuration file (make sure it's above the “/MyConfigDedicated” line), paste the following code:
   
     <Administrators>
    <unsignedLong>STEAMID</unsignedLong>
  </Administrators>

3. Replace STEAMID with the player's SteamID64, which you can find in Steam's account details or from here.
4. Override Boot Config: Click on the option that says "Override Boot Config - Use As Default" to ensure the changes take effect.
5. Save Config Template: After making the necessary changes, don’t forget to click "Save Config Template" to store your settings.

6. Optional - Banning Players: If you also want to ban certain players or groups from joining your server, you can add a Banned list. Below the Administrators line, include the following:
    

 <Banned>
   <unsignedLong>STEAMID</unsignedLong>
 </Banned>

7. Restart Your Server: Restart the server for the changes to take effect. Once the server is back online, you should have admin access.

As an admin, you can perform several useful actions in Space Engineers, including:

• /kick playername - Kicks a player from the server.
• /ban playername - Bans a player from the server, preventing them from joining.
• /unban playername - Removes a ban on a previously banned player.
