Connecting to Your Space Engineers Server
Congratulations on purchasing your own Space Engineers server! In this guide, we will walk you through the steps to connect to it. Whether you’re an experienced gamer or a beginner, we've made it easy for you to get started.
How to Connect
- Click "Join Game" on the main screen of Space Engineers.
- Type your server's name into the search box and wait for the server list to finish searching.
- When it appears, you can right-click on your server to add it to your favourites so it’s easier to find next time.
- For a faster connection, you can use the Direct Connect option. Click on "Direct Connect" instead of typing the name.
- Insert your server IP:Port in the provided field and click "Connect." You can also enable the option to add it to your favourites from there.
Common Possible Issues
Here are some common issues you might encounter:
- Some servers don’t show up on the server list if they’re heavily modded. If you're experiencing this, restarting the game might help. You can also use Direct Connect to bypass this issue.
- Double-check that the name, IP, and port are correct. Names aren’t case sensitive, but be sure to enter the IP next to the port with a colon (:) delimiter like so:
178.456.648.25:10054 - Can't connect? Make sure you enable experimental mode inside game settings, as dedicated servers are always under that category.
