How to Become an Admin (and Ban Players) on Abiotic Factor
If you've set up a server for Abiotic Factor, you might want to become an admin to manage gameplay or control stuff such as saving the game, banning other players or writing the log of the server for troubleshooting. Follow these simple steps to gain admin rights and learn how to manage your server effectively.
Steps to Become an Admin
Locate the Admin.ini file: You need to find the Admin.ini file. You can do this using your File Manager or FTP. The file is located in the following path:
/Server/AbioticFactor/Saved/Config/WindowsServer

- Edit the Admin.ini file: Open the file and enter the SteamID of the player(s) you want to grant admin rights to. To find SteamIDs, you can check here or look in the player’s Steam account details.

Modify the file: Replace
ExampleID1
andExampleID2
with the actual SteamID(s) of the players you wish to promote to admin. The edited section of the file should look like this:[Moderators] Moderator=STEAMID Moderator=ExampleID2 [BannedPlayers] BannedPlayer=ExampleBanID1 BannedPlayer=ExampleBanID2
Remember, you can also add SteamIDs in the
BannedPlayer
lines if you need to ban players. After finished the editing, save your file.

- Restart the server: Once you've made your changes, be sure to restart the server for the changes to take effect.

Troubleshooting
If you run into issues while trying to set up admin rights, consider the following:
- Incorrect SteamIDs: Make sure the SteamIDs you entered are correct. Double-check them using the SteamID finder.
- Syntax errors: Ensure that there are no typos or incorrect formatting in your Admin.ini file.
- Admin rights not granted: If admin rights are not working, revisit the previous steps to ensure all edits were saved correctly and try restarting the server again.
Admin Commands in Abiotic Factor
As of now, Abiotic Factor does not have a comprehensive list of admin commands like other games. However, you can utilize some basic server console commands, including forcing a world save and modifying game settings.
Be aware that there is a mod that enables a cheat table, but it might not be functional in the future. For server management, there are some Unreal Engine console commands that can help you monitor and adjust various settings as needed.
