Hytale was built with community creativity in mind. While the base game offers an incredible adventure in Orbis, mods let you transform the experience by adding new creatures, items, gameplay mechanics, and more.
With our Integrated Mod Panel, you do not need to upload files or edit complex configurations. The panel connects directly to the CurseForge database so you can install mods with a few clicks. This guide will show you how to customize your world in minutes.
Step 1: Shut Down Your Server
Before changing server files, stop the server to avoid data corruption or installation errors. We also recommend making a backup of your world before installing mods.
Log in to your PingPlayers server panel.
Click the Actions tab in the left-hand menu.
Click Shutdownand wait until the server status shows "Stopped."
Step 2: Access the Mod Library
We have integrated a mod library into your control panel so you can browse and install mods without leaving the panel.
Browse the list or use the search bar to find mods you want to add.
Step 3: Install Your Mods
When you find a mod you want, installation is automatic.
Click the Install button next to the mod.
You should see a confirmation on the upper part that a mod has been installed.
You can also view all the installed mods by clicking on Installed.
The panel will download the files and place them on the server's mods folder on File Manager.
Repeat for any other mods you want to add.
Reminder: Most mods require Client-Side Installation as well. This means you (and anyone joining your server) must also install these same mods on your own computer, or you may not be able to join.
Step 4: Restart to Apply Changes
After installing, start the server so it can load the new content. Go back to the Actions tab, then click Restart.
Optionally watch the console to make sure the server loads the new mods successfully.
Troubleshooting
"The mod isn't working / not showing up in-game."
Solution:Make sure you restart the server after installing the mod. Mods load during server startup. If you installed while the server was running (or forgot to restart), they won't appear.
"The server keeps crashing after installing a mod."
Solution: Conflicts or outdated mods are the most common cause. Uninstall the most recent mod you added and restart the server to see if the problem goes away. Check the server console/logs for error messages — they often name the mod or dependency causing the crash.
Other tips:
Check mod compatibility with your Hytale server version.
Some mods require other mods (dependencies). Make sure required dependencies are installed.
If you are unsure, revert to your backup and install mods one at a time to identify which one causes issues.
