Backing Up and Migrating Your Soulmask Server Data
Managing your server files can be done easily through the File Manager or FTP (File Transfer Protocol). The File Manager is accessible from the left side panel of our website and is user-friendly, allowing you to download, upload, rename, create, move, and delete files or folders effortlessly.
Before you modify any server files using FTP or File Manager, it’s crucial to shut down your server. This step prevents any potential corruption of your server data that could lead to issues.
Steps to Back Up Your Save
1) Shut down your server by going to Actions then Shutdown (make sure the progress was saved recently, or you used the “gm BaoCun” command to force a save).

2) Go to File Manager on the side menu or connect to FTP. For a detailed guide on connecting to FTP, you can go to this link. Then, navigate to /Server/WS/Saved/Worlds/Dedicated/Level01_Main/ and download the world.db
.
This is your save file and acts as a backup for restoration purposes.

4) Once you have downloaded your backup, restart the server by going to Actions then Restart to continue playing.

How to Restore the Server from a Backup or Migrate Data from Another Server
1) Shut down your server by going to Actions then Shutdown (again, ensure the progress was saved using the “gm BaoCun” command if needed).

2) Go to File Manager on the side menu or connect to FTP, then go to /Server/WS/Saved/Worlds/Dedicated/Level01_Main/. There should be only a single world.db
file present.
Delete that file (or back it up on your local PC or somewhere else on the server) and upload the world.db save file that you backed up or obtained from another server.

4) Restart the server by going to Actions then Restart and log in.

Please note that configurations can’t be migrated, as the game will revert to default sandbox and coefficient settings. To adjust the server back to your preferences, you’ll need to use the admin menu in-game.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, here are some possible problems and solutions:
- If your save included mods that weren’t installed on the server after restoration, you may be unable to join your game. Ensure all necessary mods are added to your server.
- Make sure the server was turned off before deleting the world.db file; if it wasn’t, the file could not be deleted, and the restoration would fail.
Conclusion
You have now mastered the vital skill of managing your Soulmask server's data. You are fully equipped to create secure backups for peace of mind and confidently migrate your world.db
save file whenever needed. Remember that server configurations do not transfer with the save file, so you will need to re-apply your preferred settings in-game after a migration. If you run into any trouble, ensure the server was fully shut down before transferring files and that any necessary mods are installed.
