Terraria 1.4.5 is "in the endgame now," but crossplay will be a little longer

It's been almost three years since Terraria 1.4.5 was first mentioned, and what could be the final update for one of the best-selling games ever is still in the works. Developer Re-Logic has been taking its time, adding more features and cooking everything to perfection, but there's naturally one question on everyone's minds: when we can actually play it? Now, in its Terraria State of the Game blog post for August 2025, the studio says it's "in the endgame" on the long-awaited overhaul.
