Welcome! Since you already have your server's IP:Port and the server name you chose, joining is straightforward.

There are two ways to join a Vintage Story server: using the built-in server browser or by adding a Direct Connection. Use the server browser if you prefer a quick click-and-connect experience; use direct connection when the server doesn't appear in the list or you want to be sure you're connecting to the exact IP:Port.

If you can't locate your server details, go to your panel at My Servers > Manage Server.

Server Browser

1. Launch Vintage Story
   Start the Vintage Story game from your desktop or game launcher.

2. Open Multiplayer
   From the main menu, click Multiplayer.

   

    

3. Find the server in the server list
   Click on the Browse public servers option at the bottom, this opens the server browser that shows public and recently discovered servers.
   Write your server name you specified when setting it up, in the search bar at the top.

   

    

4. Connect
   Once you click on your server from the list, you will see the server details. In here you can either add it as Favorite (recommended) or Join directly. 

   

   If the server requires a password you will see a line to enter it.

Direct Connection

Use this method when the server does not show in the server browser or you want to ensure the exact IP and port are used.

1. Launch Vintage Story
   Open the game from your desktop or launcher.
    

2. Add a new server
   In the Multiplayer menu look for an option called Add New Server. Click it to open the server entry form.

   

    

3. Enter you server details
   • Server Name — enter a desired name for the server so it’s easy to identify.
   • Host / IP Address — type the server IP:Port exactly as provided. Example 205.209.116.30:12285

   • Server Password (if any) — if your server is private, enter the password exactly as set in your server panel.

     

      

4. Connect
   Save the server details by clicking on Create. If everything is correct, the server will be added to your Multiplayer list.
   Simply click on it to connect.

That's it, now you can share your friend the server details for them to connect and join you in the adventure.

Troubleshooting

Server isn't connecting: Make sure you wrote the right IP and port ,and that the server is online in your server panel.

I can't join because of a version mismatch: Either the server or the client is outdated. Make sure you're on the same version as the server.

Check for mods or custom assets: If the server requires specific mods, make sure your client has the same mods and versions installed.
