How to Switch Games on Your Cluster Without Losing Save Data
Swap games on your server without losing progress: store active files for free, switch to a new title, and swap back easily with few clicks.
Tired of exploring the same map and want to switch things up with a completely different game? Normally, transitioning from a sandbox builder to a hardcore survival shooter means renting a brand new server or entirely deleting your hard-earned progress.
With the Game Swap feature on your server panel, you can easily set up a different game on your existing plan without losing your current one! The system automatically securely stores your original server files in the background at no extra cost, freeing up room for your new adventure. This guide will show you exactly how to swap to a new game and how to swap back whenever you are ready.
Step - By - Step Guide
The Game Swap process is incredibly seamless and takes only a few clicks to initiate. We have broken this down into two parts: swapping to a new game and waking up a stored game.
Part 1: Swapping to a New Game
Log into your server panel and navigate to your My Servers page.

Locate your active game server. Click the Swap Game button located right next to the console and management options.

A confirmation window will appear explaining that your current server files will be kept safe and stored without using your plan capacity. Click the Choose a game button to proceed.

Select your new desired game from the catalog and complete the setup process. Your original server will now be placed into storage mode automatically!

Part 2: Swapping Back to a Stored Server
Whenever you and your friends are ready to return to your original world, you can easily wake it up from storage.
Go to your server panel and back again to the My Servers option. You will see both your currently active server and your securely stored server listed here.

Click the Swap back button located under your stored server.

A prompt will appear confirming that you want to bring the stored server back online alongside your other servers. Click the Swap back button to confirm your choice.

Your stored server will now enter a Waking up state. A progress bar will appear while the system prepares your files. Once the bar is complete, your server is live and ready for players!

Troubleshooting and Tips
Swapping games is a highly automated process, but keep these quick tips in mind to ensure a smooth transition:
- Server Address Changes: Swapping back to a stored game is usually instant. However, if the system needs to move your data around to make room, it can take a little bit longer. Be aware that your connection details and server IP address may change after waking up a stored server. Always double-check your connection details before sharing them with your players.
- Zero Capacity Cost: A stored server does not use your plan's active capacity. You do not need to worry about being charged extra or running out of resources while your old files are in storage.
- Don't Forget to Stop the Server: While the system handles the heavy lifting, it is always a good administrative habit to navigate to Actions > Shutdown on your active server before initiating any major file moves or swaps to prevent any risk of data corruption.
Conclusion
The Game Swap feature gives you the ultimate flexibility to bounce between your favorite multiplayer games without ever losing your world data. By utilizing the secure storage system, your community can jump from game to game seamlessly. Pick your next adventure, initiate the swap, and get back to gaming!
