This guide will show you the two methods for getting connected. We'll cover using the direct Join Code for a fast and guaranteed entry, as well as how to find your server using the in-game Server List.

Methods to Connect

1. Join by Code

First, you will need to locate the join code. Here's how:

• Find the code in the following location:
  • /Server/BoatGame/Saved/DedicatedServerMagicJoinCode.txt (accessible via File Manager or FTP)
  • or go to Logs → DedicatedServerMagicJoinCode.txt
• The join code is a 7-character alphanumeric code.

To connect using the join code, follow these steps:

1. Open the game and navigate to the main menu.
2. Select the Invite Code option.

3. Enter the join code you retrieved and press Confirm.

2. Server List

You can also join your server through the server list, but please note that the in-game browser is limitated and doesn't have an extensive filter. Soon after the game's release on Early Access, Direct Connect was added. Here’s how to join using server list:

1) Click on Browse Games.

2) Type your server name in the Server Name field.

3) Click the Refresh button and wait for your server to appear. This may take a few minutes.

4) If you have set a password for your server, make sure to enter it first before clicking Join Game.

Direct Connect:

1) Click on Browse Games.

2) Click on Direct Connect.

3) Insert IP and PORT found in the My Server details.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues while trying to connect, here are some common problems and solutions:

1. Join Code Failing

If the join code doesn’t work, check if your server is password-protected. If it is, you might not get a prompt to enter the password. In this case, consider removing the password from server settings and restarting the server, or opt to use the server list method instead.

2. Server Not Showing in List

Sometimes servers can take a while to show up in the server list. If you don't see your server:

• Clear the server name field and click refresh.
• Re-type the server name and refresh a few times. Be patient!
