How to Set Up Your Proximity Chat The Isle Server
Set up Proximity Chat for The Isle: Evrima using Isle-VOIP. Install the app, generate and paste your Server Hash, restart server and join.
The Isle: Evrima does not natively support proximity voice chat at the time of writing. Many players prefer talking to nearby players in-game rather than using global voice channels. To provide that experience, community solutions using Isle-VOIP were developed.
Our +VoIP servers come ready to integrate with this system, making it incredibly easy to set up. Note that the server already has an integrated VOIP system enabled, so we only need to install the Isle-VOIP application and link it with the server.
Step - By - Step Guide
Follow these instructions to get Isle-VOIP running and linked to your server.
Install Isle-VOIP:
Get the app from the official website at https://isle-voip.com/, or download it automatically by clicking here. Once downloaded, use your Steam account to log in.Generate a license:
Open the official website and log in using your Discord account, at the top right corner.
Once logged in, create a Server License by filling the details.Server name –-> use the same name that you set in our website for the server. Server IP or host –-> use the default IP:Port listed in our website. Server hash from plugin –-> leave it empty for it to generate a Hash ID automatically.
Example:

Configure your created License:
After you click create, you'll see your new License at the bottom of the page. Copy your custom Hash ID and save it somewhere safe as we'll need it for the server.
Enable both voice chat options at the bottom and save the changes.
Link your server:
Now we need to link the server using the generated Hash ID. Open the server's configuration panel at My Servers > Manage Server. In here, locate the variable called Mumble/VOIP Server Hash.
Paste your Hash ID and save the changes by clicking on Update Server.
Restart your server:
Click on the Actions option on the left panel and select Restart to apply the changes.
Join your server in IsleVOIP:
Inside your app, click Server List and look for your server's name. Simply join by clicking on it and that's it.
You did it! Now you can use proximity chat in-game while roaming around the map.
Troubleshooting
Common issues and how to fix them:
- Cannot hear or be heard: Check your input and output device selection and volume directly inside the Isle-VOIP app settings.
- Still stuck: Restart your Isle-VOIP app and the game client. Re-check the server settings in your control panel, and verify the server was successfully restarted after changing the Basic Settings Hash ID.
Console shows a lot of ERRORS. Console doesn't truly understand that the plugin is injecting stuff so it reads it as an error, ignore that as every injected line will show up in red as an error, even when they aren't errors.

Conclusion
You did it! Now you can use proximity chat in-game while roaming around the map as a dinosaur. If you followed these steps, you should have a working proximity voice setup for your The Isle: Evrima server. Once players connect through the Isle-VOIP app, voice will be distance-based, allowing for a highly immersive survival experience!
