A public server runs on its owner’s schedule, and a home world shuts once its host goes offline. Yours stays up between sessions.
The Shelters you unlocked stay yours.

About Night of the Dead
Night of the Dead is an open-world zombie survival game from Jackto Studios that mixes exploration, tower defense, survival and crafting. It entered Early Access on Steam in August 2020, and version 1.0, The Final Story, came out on 31 May 2024.
By day you travel through regions such as the Central Grassland, the Snowfield and the Desert, gathering resources and gear and unlocking fast travel at Survivor Shelters. Regional dungeons hold Unique Zombies, and the Followers you hire fight at your side. When night comes, zombies swarm your base in waves, so you build a fortress and wire it up with the Trap Controller.
Night of the Dead is a Windows game sold on Steam. The studio’s patch notes say a server with Easy Anti-Cheat protection lets in only players who have it enabled.

Quick answers on setting up and joining, with support on chat for anything the tabs miss.
Pick a plan and a location above and check out. Your server is usually running within 60 seconds. Then set the server name and difficulty and restart. It shows up in the game’s server browser, under Dedicated.
Choose 3 GB, 5 GB or 8 GB. The 16 GB on the Steam page is for playing on your PC, not for the server. The table above suggests a size by how far your base has grown. Not sure? Ask support.
On six continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa. The map above shows every location, the checkout shows your ping to each one, and the price is the same everywhere.
Open the server browser, choose the Dedicated tab and find your server by name. Filters for difficulty, mode and password narrow the list, and anyone joining types the password if you set one. Each client needs the same game version as the server.
The difficulty is set in the server’s ServerSettings.ini file, which the studio’s dedicated server guide describes. Edit it and restart the server so the change loads.
Set IngameAdminPassword in the server’s settings file and restart. In the game, open Server Info and enter the password. You can then manage the ban list and set the message of the day.
Yes. Give the server a join password, and only those who know it get in. The server browser has a password filter, so whoever you invite can still find it.
Yes. Per the studio’s patch notes, a server with Easy Anti-Cheat protection lets in only players who have it enabled, while a server without it lets anyone join. Ask support which mode your server runs.
A dedicated server loads the save whose name matches SaveName in ServerSettings.ini, as the studio’s server guide explains. Ask support before you upload one, so the save matches the server’s game version.
They do by default, and the game’s settings include a No Wave option for a calmer world. The share of Heavy zombies in a wave grows as the in-game date moves on.
Our free migration service covers most games with a persistent world, so ask support first how a Night of the Dead save comes over. Our engineers copy it, check it and keep your old server running until the move is done. How free migration works.
Jackto Studios publishes no figure for dedicated servers. Your plan is a RAM size, not a headcount, and Change Max Players in the panel sets the limit, which restarts the server.
