ARK: Survival Evolved is an open-world survival and taming game developed by Studio Wildcard, first released in Early Access in June 2015 and fully launched in August 2017. Set on a mysterious island teeming with prehistoric and mythical creatures, ARK drops players into a hostile environment where survival depends on wits, crafted tools, and the creatures you can bring to your side.
At the heart of ARK: Survival Evolved is the creature taming system, a deep mechanic that lets players subdue and bond with hundreds of species, from common Raptors and Triceratops to the terrifying Giganotosaurus and the mythical Griffin. Tamed creatures fight alongside you, haul resources, and form the backbone of both solo survival and organized tribe warfare. On multiplayer servers, players form tribes to build fortified bases, launch raids, and claim territory across massive maps including Ragnarok, Aberration, Extinction, and Genesis.
ARK: Survival Evolved sessions range from quick taming runs to multi-week tribe campaigns. The game's persistent world means every base built, every creature tamed, and every resource stockpiled stays put when you log off. For serious tribes and community servers, that means dedicated hosting: a server online around the clock, with rates and settings you control, and no dependency on any one player staying connected.
