Squad is a large-scale tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Offworld Industries. It left Early Access in September 2020 and has grown into one of the most respected milsim shooters on PC, built around teamwork, communication, and combined-arms combat.
Each round puts two teams of up to 50 players against each other on huge maps, with players split into small squads led by a squad lead. Victory depends on building FOBs, running logi runs to keep them supplied, and coordinating infantry, armor, and helicopters. Voice communication is not a bonus here, it is the core mechanic that ties a winning team together.
Squad is a multiplayer-only game, so the server you play on shapes every match. Communities run their own rule sets, from strict full-real milsim to faster casual play. On a private dedicated server, your group sets the map rotation, the rules, and the admin team, and the server stays online around the clock for scheduled events and seeding.
